17 R4, command center keeps crashing after launching

Hi,

I am facing this problem of alienware 17 r4 command center keeps crashing after launching it. I tried all methods of reinstalling and deleting every file from every corner of my laptop by going through both old and new video on YouTube for command center reinstall yet the problem is still there. I noticed this problem started after the windows 10 update in August 2020 but i am not sure if that is the actual reason.

I want to overclock my cpu and that is the only way i know how to. Any help is appreciated.

Also of this problem doesn't can fixed is there any other way of overclocking safely

if you want to overclock with another program i recommend a intel XTU.

The command center should have a repair option when you install it.

Thank you for your reply. The very first thing I tried was the repair option but that did not fix the problem. No matter what method of reinstall or repair i use. In the end i am facing the same crash issue right after i start the application. It runs for a while like 10 sec at max then just closes if i move the cursor over it. I will try the overclock option u provided.

Hi

I tried the intel software you provided and it is very detailed and the basic function is not basically overclocking anything. I use to overclock upto 4.2 ghz but now it is not exceeding 3.6 ghz. Isn't there any way i can get the command center working again with its own OC controls

I think you should try and do a fresh start to see if it’s just windows acting up.

Thank you for your reply again sir.

I searched for a guide on how to use intel software you recommended for overclock and it is not working properly from 3.7 to 4.3 ghz. Atleast thats what i can see in task manager and MSI afterburner. Also can you explain more about the last recommendation you made on fresh start of windows. Do u mean i reinstall it?

I have a lot of softwares on it which are part of my daily work and i fear by attempting to reinstall windows i might have to reinstall all the programs that are working perfectly fine except for 1 being AW command center.

Also i got contacted by dell care right after opening this problem here and it is funny that all they care about is the service number to see if you have warranty or not. If you don't then the so called dell care doesn't even care enough to reply back to you regarding the issue their customers are facing with their high-end products.

I'm going to recommend you reinstall the command center in safe mode and then reboot.

After that I want you to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and see if that works out.
