17 R4, froze while playing GTA 5, disk error on reboot

Today while running GTA 5 my 2017 17 R4 completely froze and i had zero control, my keyboard and mouse weren't responding, about 2 or 3 minutes after it froze i decided to shut it off and re boot it, when i did i recieved 3 messages saying 1 "disk error"

2 "diagnosing pc"

3 "working on disk error may take more than an hour"

And my screen has been blank none of my controls work but the LED lights are still on. Its Its currently been about 1 hour and 20 minutes since the messages first appeared and nothings changed. What should i do? Will it work itself out?

Hi @Reubenwellington1  welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

Guess that laptop was on battery, playing gta 5 and the battery power level dropped beneath its default power threshold and the operating system then attempted an orderly closure of gta 5 by saving its files. However, orderly closure was interrupted when you shut the system down. Now your OS(C:) files are a mess and the system is attempting to fix the OS(C:) files to try and recover from the earlier mess. You might get lucky and the system recovers your disk.

If disk recovery is not possible, now is the time to swap in the clone (copy) OS(C:) drive that has been created as part of your Disaster Recovery plan.
