Hi @Alienware Area-51 ALX 2006   thank you for sharing update.

The old McScruffy solution fixed many a users' problem with AlienFX, but is not a fix for the AlienFX, or AlienFX 2.0.on my laptop.  The AWCC FX tab fails to work and there are no AlienFX 2.0 files on the system, and no AlienFX 2.0 troubleshoot.

This laptop now has the Windows Pro 10 x64 version 21H1 update and its Windows Security rejects two modules within Dell's OC Controls as it is trying to load, because the vendor did not sign them. Dell has lost its fundamental expertise to adapt their AWCC code for the Windows operating system. AWCC should be a mall standalone application, and AlienFX 2.0 should be a separate application, just like the OC Controls application.

Windows Pro 10 x64 Version 21H1, Device Manager has "lost" its Human Interface Devices, HID-compliant vendor-defined device drivers. The AWCC installs but refuses to load and the AlienFX 2.0 application cannot be found. Consequently there are no AWCC USB connections and AWCC FX will not work.

When will Dell Technical Support fix their AWCC AlienFX 2.0 application?

Reliability Monitor says AWCC.Service.exe stopped working and we see that there are only 71 files. The other files have not been loaded. AWCC just sits there with rotating circle, it fails to load. When is Dell going to fix their AWCC AlienFX 2.0 application? When will Dell create AlienFX 2.0 troubleshoot?

A cryptic message appears when trying to run the AWCC. "Unable to complete the installation of the AWCC components. Please visit Dell Support site." Without further clarification, this message is meaningless.

What is supposed to happen, when visiting Dell Support site?

Hi everyone, another update in this farcical saga.

The Alienware 17 R5 BIOS v1.13.2 update has been successfully installed. A clean install of Alienware Command Center (AWCC) v5.3.2.0 was then undertaken and it installed OC Controls v1.3.32.1360. The AWCC Library and Fusion tabs work, but Home and FX tabs are 'missing' again. The AlienFX 2.0 application was not installed. There is still no Dell troubleshoot to fix this persistent fault. Dell Technical support continue to be clueless and will not provide the missing files. The extended Dell Warranty is useless.

Hi @T-Troll  thank you for 08-08-2021 07:02 PM post in Solved: Re: Alien Fx disapear in AWCC - Dell Community

"@T-Troll says: I now play with fan controls, and i configure out both OS and AWCC uses ACPI interface entry points to detect light (well.... any) device. Seems like the "brick" is somewhere into ACPI. Try to get full ACPI and EC dumps from working system and compare to yours, it should be somewhere inside. I bet some EC settings altered."

If you look at the earlier posts in this thread, there is more diagnostic information from my Alienware 17 R5 laptop. The ePSA tests all pass, but ePSA does not test everything. Have to speculate that ePSA is accurate when it says all the PSU rails are functioning and all connections pass. So it could be a dry solder joint, a faulty chip, etc., but whatever, its the root cause of all LEDs not being switched on (stuck in dark mode).

Dell Technical Support fails to provide any troubleshoot. Thanks for the suggestion to get full ACPI and EC dumps from working system to compare with. None of my colleagues will touch Alienware laptops, and based on my experience complete with warranty, they never will get an Alienware.

So I figure that my very expensive Alienware laptop and its LED Lights fault is a lost cause, and will never work.

This Alienware Gaming laptop has lost its appeal. Dell imposition of the  Intel Plundervolt  restrictions has changed this Alienware into a very mundane laptop.

Dell Technical Support still not fixed installing AlienFX 2.0 problem by their current flagship AWCC 5.3.2.0 application. @Dell-BradL offers to help.

Hi @Dell-BradL  thank you for sharing response. Even if there is nothing to report, its good to know that someone is working on this problem. Still unsighted why AlienFX 2.0 is not a separate application. The AWCC application is now very large, and that can be a problem for RAM to fully process and retain on motherboard.

Still searching to get AWCC working.  AlienFX 2.0 Not working : Alienware (reddit.com)  Reddit post says get Alienware FX 2.0 from Microsoft Store. The existing AWCC is removed by Revo Uninstaller Free, and AWCC applications installed from Microsoft Store. However, LED Lights problem not fixed. The AWCC installs but refuses to load the AlienFX 2.0 application. Consequently, AWCC says no AlienFX devices found, there are no AWCC USB connections to LED Lights and the AWCC FX (and Home) tabs are removed from AWCC. Windows is currently version 21H1.

AWCCService has a Windows (User-Mode) invalid pointer to Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System32 > kernel32.dll which says its target data is either missing or awaiting installation, but what is missing? Has Windows Update removed/disabled something that AWCC requires?

Hi @Dell-BradL  is there a Dell Technical Support work-in-progress update, that that they are getting near to a solution that works for all customers/users?
