17 R5, BIOS Update 1.7.0

My current Bios version is 1.5.0.  Support Assist is prompting me with an "Urgent" request to update the Firmware, which I believe will update the BIOS to version 1.7.0 (the current download available on the Dell support website). There is a 1.5.1 and a couple of 1.6.x releases before this one.

Has anyone applied this update 1.7.0 and can comment on how well it worked?  The notes indicate it relates to security issues.  BIOS 1.5.1 fixed an issue when using the graphics amplifier; 1.6.x updates are noted for Intel security.

So often in forums people say not to do BIOS updates, unless it is addressing a particular performance issue one is interested in.

I did it and I got the issues with my wi-fi conection. Sometimes works, sometimes no. Also I got problems with USB ports. All flash devices connected to  my notebook are automaticly detected as ISO and then is loaded in virtual drive. (cant write, copy, delete....)

Perhaps we can help you out with that. Be sure to send us out a Private Message with your Service Tag, so we can look into that matter. (Also, please avoid posting your Service Tag on public threads).
