I have the same update problem, no device compatible with AlienFX, an update with lights out and no longer accepted, already formed, already installed a previous version of Windows 10 and nothing remains deleted.
managed to solve, its turned off all the lights, mine after the update all the lights went out even reinstalling the Alienware Command Center Application, does not recognize the AlienFX
The error "No AlienFX Hardware Detected" may have its roots in the registry, related to UAC. See below.
I had the same issue after AWCC did an update. Uninstalled/re-installed AWCC in the normal way from my user account. Turns out that the problem in my case is that the registry is the problem. By that I mean that when the update installed it did not use administrative rights even though my use account has full administrative rights. So I ended up having to uninstall from the Administrator account and use a registry cleaner to get rid of all references in the the registry user accounts to the AWCC software. Used Revo Uninstaller (with the advanced scan option) to do the uninstall it rather than Windows control panel. Downloaded the latest version of AWCC and OC Controls from the Dell Support page for my 17 R5 and installed them in the Administrator account using the 'Run as Administrator' command (right click on install file). This fixed everything and AWCC ran without a hitch after that. I think I also had to re-install in the user account as well. I had a big long post on how to do this but Dell's system tagged it as spam and deleted it. I hope this message isn't wiped out by them, too.
Hello @Konadreamer thank you for your message. This did not work for my 17 R5 which continues to be dark. The AWCC update removed all AlienFX applications including hardware test of the LEDs. Download of the AlienFX 2.0 Tester is not available as a separate download. SupportAssist and Alienware Update says all applications have been installed, but this is not true. 17 R5 continues to be dark.
