17 R5, Crucial memory, not working

I tried to upgrade my alienware 17 R5 by putting 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-2666 SODIMM memory, but it's not recognizing. The memory manufacturer (Crucial) says it's compatible, but I do not think it is. The Alienware specification says it supports 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM memory.

What could be happening?

Memory:

Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM

Alienware 17R5

CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H

BIOS: Alienware Version 1.2.1

Hi @naciukinho,

Yes, this looks like a compatibility issue, since as per specs it should work.

This brand is not officially validated so we can't confirm functionality.

I am very disappointed with Alienware as it is considered one of the best brands.

The memory manufacturer says it is compatible with Alienware 17 R5. I tested this memory on other laptops, like Asus, and it worked very well, only on Alienware Laptops did not work. The memory was tested on 3 Alienware laptops (15R2, 17R4, and 17R5) and did not work on any of them.

You know what else is annoying? My Alienware 17R5 doesn't recognize my Crucial 500 SSD when I plug it into the motherboard. It works if I use it with an external case. If I plug a Samsung SSD it works, just not crucial. Even my old Dell recognized Crucial SSD. Why hate on Crucial?
