17 R5, SA unable to install AWCC and OC Controls
Hello @Alienware-Joe, still having unexpected problems with new 17 R5 laptop which is now two months older. Please note that SupportAssist is unable to install AWCC and OC Controls Application updates. Customer continues to be unhappy.

Alienware Interactive Support Agent's response is unintelligible.
When is Alienware / Dell code writers going to get their update process to work?

Now SupportAssist is unable to validate installation of both the recommended drivers.

SupportAssist says there are no Hardware issues and 2 Updates are available. Our 17 R5 has AlienFX hardware preinstalled, but the laptop is dark and something is stopping SupportAssist installing the AWCC Suite update. Revo Uninstaller has been used to remove earlier versions of these two updates. When are all of these Alienware application problems going to be fixed?

We are only two months into using our new Alienware 17 R5 Laptop and it is still dark! Our first Dell Technical Updates email (date May 17, 2020 at 02:21 hours) for Alienware 17 R5 with Windows 10, 64-bit has arrived. This says there are three new updates.
Realtek ALC3266 Audio, Release date: 5/14/2020 2:53:25 AM, Criticality: Recommended.
Realtek Audio Console, Release date: 5/14/2020 2:53:25 AM, Criticality: Recommended.
Dell / Alienware Digital Delivery Application, Release date: 5/12/2020 8:46:33 AM, Criticality: Recommended.
We do not trust Alienware Update v3.1.2 and its feedback option does not work. So we downloaded these three updates and installed using our Local Admin Account with run as Administrator.
After numerous restarts, SupportAssist continues to say it cannot install the AWCC and OC Controls updates. After two hours we give-up on SupportAssist persistent failure to validate installation on our 17 R5.
When is Dell / Alienware going to update their 621.28 MB AWCC Suite update default to correctly install onto our 17 R5, which is preinstalled with AlienFX hardware? Why does this bloated 621.28 MB AWCC code try and detect AlienFX hardware and then fail to install any of its applications? Why is AWCC update not fit for purpose?

Dell's Check your PC Setup, auto scheduled scan makes its appearance in Notifications.
SupportAssist Scanning system hardware is undertaken and no problems are reported.
The full version of SupportAssist continues to report that it cannot install AWCC and OC Controls!
When is Dell / Alienware going to fix these problems with their applications?

AWCC and OC Controls continue to await installation by SupportAssist or Alienware Update. The Laptop is dark. There is still no provision to switch the AlienFX LEDs on, etc.
(1) There is no version of AWCC and OC Controls installed.
(2) There is no AWCC folder in Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Alienware.
Dell Support for Alienware - Drivers & Downloads says: Let us analyse your system to find latest updates. Then reports no driver updates found. Your system has the most recent updates.
When is Dell / Alienware going to fix these problems with their applications?
