I would be careful doing that work around. You don't want to risk damaging your equipment. I'm just waiting for the update that is supposed to be in the works. I bought my AGA shortly after buying my m17 R2...Figuring like many, I could extend the life of my laptop with at least 1 upgrade...Its one of the reasons I went with Alienware. I have an 3070 FE paper weight ATM...If this doesn't work out...I'll probably sell my 3070 and won't be going back to Alienware for my next upgrade.
The AGA has been touted as an upgrade path for years even up to the latest laptops. Now it's at EOL as these cards are released. Alienware needs to just unlock the thing and release a list of supported cards. Don't lock out or otherwise block cards through verification software that can obviously work based on the AGAs specifications.

So managed to get a PNY GeForce RTX 3070 8GB XLR8 and it’s working great but only went the laptop want.
I made tt work 3 times on 30 tries. It’s very frustrating.
1. Install the driver
2. Restart the computer
3. Get the error 31
4. Unplug and plug AGA
5. Error 18 and it’s launch
It’s very hard to make it work every time. Like I said I managed to make it work 3 times on 30 tries and restart.
Any tips that I missed?
Dell make the update. I spent €300 on AGA and now €690 on a RTX 3070. It’s frustrating.

Update :
Hello, i managed to get the AGA work everytime (thx of # Alienware Aurora) with my Nvidia 3070.
Use the following steps :
1/ Install driver and get the error code 31
2/ Leave everything plug and restart
3/ When you're on the boot loop (with alienware brand) -> unplug DC power
4/ When the boot loop is done quick plug the DC back
5/ Enjoy, it's work for me everytime
I hope it's will help the community

Have you updated your motherboard's bios? How about chip-set drivers?
