AW310H headset, built in mic not working
Recently my gf bought me an Alienware headset, 310H I believe. I just got it a few days ago and it was fine at picking up my voice but since then it has gotten to the point where it's not able to pick up my voice at all. I use it with my PS4 so I just plug it into the controller. From the audio settings and in-game testing it's apparent it can't pick anything up. Can someone help me troubleshoot this please?
(apologies if this is the wrong category)

Eventually I fixed it. I think I had the cord plugged in the wrong order maybe? I plugged one end into the headset first then the other end into the controller. Could have sworn I already tried that but I guess it worked.

I have just had the exact same problem. It has worked well for 3 months but now the microphone isnt working. The rest of the audio is fine though. I also play use it on my PS4 so tried an old headset instead and the micrphone works fine on the ps4. Tried both headsets on my phone and the old one works, 310H doesnt work.

I have the 510H and my microphone doesn't work either. I used the adapter, tried another adapter that I know works, tried converting to xlr, tried different computers, nothing works. All of my other many microphones work great, but I would like to use the headset mic. I'm guessing a wire inside was dislodged or something, so how do you begin to take these apart? These were a gift for my birthday, so I have no receipt or anything, but I would like to use this! Thank you!
