Alienware 15r backlight keeps going out and flikering

I have a rarely used alienware 15r everything is updated all drivers and bios are updated. When I'm on my laptop the backlight will randomly start flikering and then completly turn of. This happens randomly both on and off the power supply. It will sometimes come back on in minutes or hours.. I have tried running every error report and everything come back good. The compute has been used a handful of times so I find it hard to believe the backlight is bad. But I dont know what could be causing this. HELP ME!
