Alienware 17 Blue screen DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE
My Alienware randomly get's this around once to twice a day where it will go to a blue screen (usually when I'm watching a video) and it will come up with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, but sometimes it doesn't go to that and just straight up freezes, sometimes I'll have to turn it off from the power button to un freeze and sometimes it comes back in a few seconds.
I also went to the dell support thing I have downloaded and there it says "The "PCI Express Root Complex" driver (C/WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pci.sys) appears to have caused a system crash"

Hi @MayLouise1997,
Make sure the BIOS is up to date.
Also go to those unknown devices > right click > Properties > Hardware ID and reply with both, so we can check what are the missing drivers.

Please open device manager and check if there's either a question mark, exclamation point or yellow triangle listed by any of the PCI Express Root Complex. I believe it's listed under "System Devices".

I have two of them but they are in unknown device's.
When I check system devices everything looks fine though
I'm really worried, thank you for replying!

@Alienware-Eimy Do I really have to update my BIOS as I have no idea how to?
Also when I saw the unknown device drivers last night I went and fixed them.

If the computer is running fine, I suggest you don't update the BIOS. However, if you still want to update, please following the steps in link below to safety installed latest BIOS version onto system.
How to Update BIOS (Official Dell Tech Support)
Warnings: Do not turn off computer or disconnect from your power source while updating the BIOS or you may harm your computer. During the update, your computer will restart and you will briefly see a black screen.

Hey I found the two drivers that were not properly installed and installed them in and now the laptop has not crashed in 2 days, so to me that means it's fixed, thank you to everyone for being so kind and helping me!

Sorry to bug you on this old topic, but could you tell me what drivers they are? I've got 2 unknown's as well right now and can't figure out what I'm missing to stop my BSOD.

Never mind. Finally found it. Didn't know the OSD application was a driver.
