17 R4, (210-AJST) Upgrade with CPU and GPU
Hi.
My Alienware 17 R4 configuration:
DELL Alienware 17 R4 (210-AJST) Part Number 9872G
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6143 MB
I want to upgrade my GPU or upgrade system board with cooling system to another one with other GPU.
As i found on this link (Radeon 470) this series also can be with GPU AMD Radeon 470.
Can i buy this system board and can I install it into my laptop?
Is the CPU also upgradable on the my Alienware 17 R4?

The CPU is soldered onto the mainboard, so you would have to replace the entire mainboard to have a different CPU and GPU. As for the GPU, the 1060 6Gb version is far superior to the RX 470. According to Game Debate (www.game-debate.com) the 1060 is 203% better performance so you would see a huge performance decrease with that GPU.

Yep. I know that AMD is far slower. But I need AMD Radeon for developer purposes.
Main question: where I can buy new mainboard?

New - nowhere. They'll all be refurbished. These systems don't sell in large numbers, and this model not being that old, the parts supply won't be enormous. Try EBay.
