AW568 keyboard, problem with Macros, need help
Hello,
I could not find a category for keyboards so i posted it here.
I have the AW568 with a German qwertZ layout. Everything works normal so far, every key does what is written on it. Except when i play a recorded macro. My Windows is set to DE layout.
When i record a macro in Alienware Command Center, all keys are recognized correctly (For example if i type "qwertZ", the macro window shows all the typed letters correctly). Then i put that macro on one of the macro keys and save design.
Now its getting strange: When i now open a notepad or other input field anywhere and press the macro key, the output is done in another keyboard layout and "qwertY" is being typed automatically.
If it was only those two buttons, okay, but all the symbols are also mixed up. For example when i record a "#" (which is directly on the left side of the return button on my keyboard) the macro puts out a "-".
I am already on the newest firmware and alienware command center.
I also tried resetting the keyboard to factory defaults with no success and i tried it with the command center installed on another machine. I think this is a firmware bug and needs to be solved.
When i switch windows to a US layout, recording and playing the macros seem to be consistent. But then of course the buttons markings don't match what is being typed at all, thats no option.
How can i get a hold of a Dell support member? the hotline wants an order number from Dell directly, which i dont have because i bought the keyboard at another seller on the amazon marketplace. The seller won't give me the order number either because he sais this is nothing he would share with a customer.
Regards
Thomas
