Alienware M17 not recognizing that its plugged in

I bought this laptop in december 2013(GTX770/i74790), its been a great laptop, and has traveled with me all over.  However it has started to discharge the battery even while plugged in, and the icon at the botton fails to show that its charging or even plugged in, even after several plugs and unplugs.  I have 2 separate power adapters, I originally bought 2 so I could leave one at my desk, and the other in my backpack.  The same issue happens on both chargers.  Occasionally the issue is seems to be resolved with a power cycle.
