Alienware video output question
Laptop 17R video card GTX 1070. Cant find this info anywhere. There are two ports. HDMI & display port.
Question. Are both ports hard wired "on" always or is there a way shut one off?
Have things that used to work buy now dont. After checking everything, the only thing that makes sense is the Display port outlet in not working now. HDMI no change.
Something shut it off or its broken.

If there's an option to disable certain video outputs, it would be in the BIOS, but I doubt that exists. If you don't find anything there, then have you installed a BIOS update recently? I've seen reports relating to other systems about BIOS updates that caused certain video output ports not to function anymore, such as an XPS 15 model (can't remember which) where a BIOS update killed the built-in HDMI output. Unfortunately in that case, rolling back to the previous release didn't resolve the issue. People posted about having to get motherboard replacements for that.
