I can give you my first hand experience, and i can just say, if I was you, i would cancel the order now.  I bought my alienware on the Outlet a week ago today.  Paid for 2 day shipping, but did not get it for 4 days.  Had the machine out of the box for all of about 2 hours, when i ran a BIOS system update, and my machine was bricked.  Even though I have next business day onsite service, tech support informed me that it would be at least Tuesday before someone would be out.  I did not hear anything all day, and called them, only to find out the motherboards for these devices are on backorder, for at least another week.  No one there wanted to help me, other than for me to send in my brand new machine, and wait 15 days while they get me a new one.   I literally just hung up with the returns team.  I highly recommend you get your money back before you have to wait 30 days like have to, and get yourself something else.  They honestly do not care about support.

I decided to cancel the order as more and more I looked through here and other places I keep seeing that there are over heating issues. On YouTube with reviews of this model and revision there are many, many videos of advice on the first thing to do is open it up and replace the stock brand thermal past with a better quality one like Arctic Silver. Well thats something I am not willing to do as it would void the warranty.

I chatted with support and the process was started to get it canceled, but since it has shipped (doesn't show anything on my account but when I search for the order it says its still in production) I just have to refuse the package, according to the Dell rep I chatted with.

I really don't want to get stuck with any issues a few months in and still have to pay for something that might not work properly all due to inexpensive thermal paste and thermal pads.

This is a load of my shoulders and no longer getting stomach pains over this.

The Dell rep was polite and helpful and I have no issues there.

For what it's worth, I'm very happy with my AW17R4. It's a super solid piece of machine, with very nice specs. I haven't had any quality issues at all. The machine may run a bit hot at max factory OC, but on stock my CPU max temp is about 80C and the GPU never over 75C (in a room with average temp 22C).

The QHD screen is wonderful and the overall performanace is very good.
