Area-51m, AWCC Control/Edit RGB fails when Installing AlienFXDriverSetup

AWCC FX "theme edit" is missing the option to edit the keyboard RGB on my Area-51m.

I have done quite a lot of uninstalls - reinstalls - system wipes - user profiles - following every single possible solution mentioned here/there/everywhere. Not a noob when it comes to computer/tech support/troubleshooting.

I can do a complete uninstall of all AWCC components including the AlienFX install for the AW3418DW. I can install the latest version of AWCC and I can edit all RGB parameters of my Area-51m including the keyboard RGB. AWCC does not recognize that my AW3418DW is connected and I cannot edit any RGB parameters of the Display. I download the latest version of the AlienFX setup for the AW3418DW and install. AWCC now recognizes my AW3418DW and I can edit all parameters of the RGB. However, I can not edit any "keyboard" RGB parameters on the Area-51m. I can edit all the other RGB parameters.

Note: Everything works fine with the following version of AWCC: Alienware-Command-Center-Application_760F1_WIN_5.2.63.0_A00 and the latest version of the AlienFXDriverSetup.exe installation.

If I upgrade to any other version beyond 5.2.63.0 through the AWCC auto-update the keyboard RGB edit fails. Even doing a complete uninstall/install procedure using the new version download/install the keyboard RGB edit fails.

NOTE: AWCC does not recognize the AW3418DW RGB until the AlienFXDriverSetup.exe is installed. RGB for the Area-51m works just fine in any version of AWCC. Including the keyboard edit.  As soon as the AlienFXDriverSetup.exe is installed the keyboard RGB edit capabilities are disabled or not present.

There is no work around. To have full RGB edit capabilities I am forced to use an older version of AWCC. Or Forced to not control keyboard RGB at all. Or Forced to not control AW3418DW RGB.

Hello,

I was directed by PM to follow steps in the uninstall/install document for AWCC.  Issue has not been resolved.

I have been through that step-by-step uninstall/install document a number of times. I had forgotten there was a "regedit" section.

However, I did as you requested and uninstalled/installed following the directions in the document. The issue is still present.  I am not able to edit the RGB settings of the built-in keyboard on the Area-51m.

The issue is with the AlienFXSetup.exe and it's connection to AWCC.  The latest and greatest version of AWCC works just fine if I do not install the AlienFXSetup app/driver required for the Alienware 34in ultrawide.  As stated in the OP. There is a version of AWCC and AlienFXSetup that work correctly. If I install that version of AWCC and the latest version of AlienFXSetup everything works as expected.  If I ignore any AWCC updates everything works. But as soon as I upgrade to a newer version of AWCC the issue presents and there is no solution.

So the Final Answer From Dell Support - Is that I cannot prove I own the computer I do not deserve any community based support.  Wouldn't expect anything less then the easy way to make a complaint go away.  Shame Shame - I knew the risk buying 3rd party - but didn't expect complete denial of support.
