Area-51m R1, AWCC not detecting AW310M mouse
On my Alienware Area 51m laptop, CC was recently giving me problems. Not being able to detect my keyboard's LED/trackpad or 310M mouse, so I couldn't change the LED on them. I went thru the long process of completely uninstalling the entire thing, and reinstalled it. Every is now working as intended but I still can't get it to see my mouse. Trackpad backlight has been dormant for a few months but I never use it, so whatever I guess. My 310M's LED is stuck at the same color it was before my CC stopped seeing it since yesterday. I tried reinstalling the drivers for 310M, but nothing works.

Thanks for all the help, but unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that my mouse might be defective now.

Hi @Knight in Space thank you for a good description of the problem. Reinstalling the AWCC appears to have been successful and reinstalling the 310M mouse drivers was not successful. The touchpad enable backlight option is in the BIOS. The 310M mouse LED selection is in the AWCC FX tab.
Please go to Device Manager, delete the 310M mouse drivers, and Restart (not Shut Down). When the system Boots, Windows will detect the 310M mouse hardware and install its drivers. Revisit Device Manager to confirm that the 310M mouse drivers have been reinstalled. If not, click on the top system icon and get it to detect new hardware. Hopefully this fix works. If not there is another problem that stops the 310M mouse drivers from being reinstalled.

Would you happen to know where the drivers are or what their names are in device manager? The only one I could find was one called "Alienware 310M wireless gaming mouse device" in the Human Interface Devices tab, and deleting that one and restarting did not solve the problem.

Hi @Knight in Space thank you for sharing update.
You found the AW310M mouse in Device Manager HID group, guess that windows reinstalled this driver "Alienware 310M wireless gaming mouse device". The AW310M mouse gets its AWCC driver from Windows Update or Dell Support Drivers & Downloads.
As this problem was not fixed. There must be another problem. Check that the other drivers for the AW310M mouse have been installed.
Please plug the mouse cable and USB wireless dongle into a different USB port to determine if USB socket, wireless dongle and USB plug do not have a communication interface fault.
Please be aware that there is a troubleshooting section in the AW310M User Guide and there is Dell Support for Alienware Wireless Gaming Mouse AW310M and other Documentation Here.
