Area-51m R1, display, touchpad issues

Question

Hi guys,i just received my area-51m (9700K / 2070).After i completely updated through by supportassist, i had beenplaying PUBG for 1 mintute and when it was suddenly screen turned black with no backlight (fans and keyboard kept working). Then when i started the laptop after that and played some games it happened again.I couldn't turn off the power for a while.After 25-30 minutes i pressed  the button and then it returned to normal but if i enter the game, it will still be back.And another problem is that I can't change the color or turn on the led touchpad even though I tried to reinstall the alienware command center but it still didn't work.........Very disappointed

Well at least I am not the only one with touchpad issues - The Light stopped working for me completely - Though it would work if the BIOS setting was set to ON and not Auto - Even did one attempt at repair - with new part - but my A51m did not get luck with a repair -

Support is Responsive - New Part arrived - Recommend that Verifiy that part shipping is for the Dark Side (Black)or the Lunar Light (white) - Default is black and it may be that White will take longer to get onsite.

Support is now replacing new laptop with new laptop - If they get the order right - So Far they have tried to send me a base model and I keep telling them and I now the Service Tag represents the correct hardware config.

Service and Support doing excellent job - if they don't get it right this next time, I will opt for refund and do something else with the money.

Hi Mod,

I am current using an alien ware 51m since 5 months ago, i buy it through a third party due to this product not to sell in Viet nam. Yesterday, I CAN NOT CHANGE THE LIGHT OF THE TRON - ALIEN HEAD - TOUCH PAD AND POWER BUTTON. The keyboard and mouse are normally working, after updates software automatically includes alien ware command center and few.

Would you please help me to solver this problem?

Enable the touchpad light inside the bios. Then run the supportassist diagnostic inside of windows and the ePSA in the F12 options while restarting your laptop to test it out.

I'm having this same issue.  The touchpad works during login but once I'm logged in it stops.  Worked fine yesterday and all the drivers are up-to-date.  What's up?

Hi @tbc321  you must reject this new system within 30 days of invoice date to get new replacement system or full refund.
