Area-51m R1, thermal throttling, BIOS, no fixes
I have been saving up money yearly from the age of 17 in a dedicated bank account to specifically to buy an Alienware laptop one day. I eventually bought an Alienware Area-51m R1 on April 26, 2019 at the age of 26. Warranty expires on April 28, 2021. I was excited at first until that thermal throttling we all know so very well started to kick in. After countless Google searches and hours of problem solving, I realized, in my opinion, that the Area-51m is a total and utter catastrophe. It is an engineering failure. The Area-51m R1 should never have happened in the first place. @Alienware you know exactly what you did. The Alienware Area-51m R2 announcement was the final nail in the coffin. Now I cant even upgrade to a more efficient CPU or GPU. The selling point of the Area-51m R1 was the its upgradability factor by the way if you haven't realized that yet.
I paid R 75000 South African rands for this product. That is $4071.91 dollars. I'm gonna ask you to think for a moment. Can you comprehend how much money that is? That is about the price of a small second hand car. I can't get my money back or exchange it for another model. I exceeded my return time frame because at first, I had high hopes that a software update or BIOS updates would fix it. Needless to say, the sound quality is horrible. Bad Alienware support technical skills, and poor communication lead to this. You know what, I tried my best every day to fix this laptop even bought liquid metal to keep it cool and still no solution. I'm not going to sell my Area-51m R1 because I'm not going to cheat the person willing to buy it from me.
After a year of almost no customer feedback and lousy BIOS updates, you gave up on us. Just keep in mind that it took us a minute to give up on you.

No more Dellc

Well said! I even paid for their software support and that was no help! I just hate feeling like I wasted my money on something I can don’t use anymore!

I agree. Because of the way Dell abandoned us I will never purchase from them again! I'll buy other manufacturers. This is outrageous and I cannot believe they are getting away with it.
