BIOS issues

Good morning everyone.

I had recently updated the bios to what I thought was the latest version. Then I went into the bios to change the boots from legacy to UFI boot. I also turned on the TPM I saved then I exited. Then I rebooted my computer and then it came up with a warning, but it disappeared too quickly. Then I had turned off my computer manually. Now it will not boot. I am totally blind, so if you could, please be as descriptive as possible I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi @ricki90 welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please share the Alienware Model and Revision number, example x17 R2. Please share the operating system, example Windows 11 version 22H2. Was system purchased with Dell warranty and is it active? Thank you.

The first time you boot after changing the system from CSM/Legacy to UEFI, you must do so in safe mode so the system can install the correct driver for the storage drive.

Reverse the changes you made -- and the system should then boot.

Then you need to decide whether to try again, or reinstall Windows (if you decide to try again, make sure you have a backup of the system that's been verified -- things do go wrong with a drive mode change).

To receive assistance from Dell Chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live private chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.
