If anyone is still having this problem this is how I fixed it. I was trying to update the Bios with Alienware Update. Windows Key - Alienware - Alienware Update - Check No Go. It would seem to start but then stop - no error - no nothing - no update. I went to download.dell.com. Somewhere in there is an executable for updating the Alienware BIOS. I downloaded the .exe file, disconnected all peripherals, left the machine plugged in, logged on as Administrator and ran the .exe file. It gave a further list of things I should check so I aborted and then reran. A couple of minutes later I was on 1.5.0
This problem still exists. I have Bios 1.6.02 and am unable to update from that. It is what my computer came with. I have tried downgrading, (no luck), same Bios, (no luck), 2.0.4, 2.1.1, 2.2.1, 2.3.0(latest) all no luck.
