Charger not working on an Alienware 17

So I've been using my Alienware laptop on a monitor for a while because the screen was broken. It's been working just fine. I just purchased and installed a new screen. After installing it for the first time it beeped meaning that the screen wasn't connected properly. At this point the charger was working. I reconnected the screen and went to try again and now my laptop won't power on and the charger's green light goes out when I plug it in. Any ideas on what I need to do to get this working again?
