M17x R4, Windows 7, end of Microsoft support
I've a Alienware M17x R4 since several years and it has been delivered with Windows 7. When Microsoft release Windows 10, Dell advice me to keep Windows 7 on my computer because they haven't test my laptop with Windows 10 (Windows 10 upgrade was free at that time). Recently, Microsoft send me a important message during update about "end of support for Windows 7". Are they now drivers and core applications versions for my machine that support windows 10? * No, see here. DELL-Chris M
Knowing that I'm still satisfied with my laptop (3D screen, processor i7), what should I do now?
- Keep actual OS Windows 7 without Microsoft support
- Install Windows 10 (Windows 10 says fully compatible)
- Change some components of my computer and install Windows 10
- Buy another computer who support Windows 10
Thanks for your suggestions.

I would upgrade to windows 10 since your 7 yr old model is compatible. You won't have trouble with win 10 drivers since win 10 has lots of drivers. No need to change anything even if you could. Too insecure to use Win 7 after it reaches End of Life. You might even have a new computer by then.

To be sure, I’ve install from scratch and install my applications from the Microsoft store. Then I’ve install the specific application from dell
