Yes I have. I’ve downloaded it onto a USB didn’t work burnt it on DVD didn’t work used the upgrade features from media creation tool didn’t work. Any operating system works except windows 10. The only windows 10 the works is the original initial release version and when you go to update it to the newest version it completely crashes
That's pretty weird. I've never had an issue with my machine or any others that I've upgraded from Win7, well I think I had an issue once when upgrading and the internet dropped out and the installation failed. Have you tried using a new SSD? If you have another PC then the other option is to install Win10 on that and then transfer the drive over to your M18x. I've done this before and it successfully activated.
I’m not confident enough to pull it apart n put the hard drive in a different pc haha. So I’ve tried many things. I did manage to get it upgraded to win 10 build 1803 but it started to run . Always crashing. It will not go any higher and there are I think 4 newer win10 versions after this none will install. So I decided to install win10 on an external hard drive and see if it runs. On the external hard drive it works perfectly everything installed all the drivers installed and everything. I tried using drive cloned to clone it on my PCs hard drive and it still stuffed up. Also I had an other problem which I didn’t mention. I kept getting black screens in win 7 and 8.1 when I had the nvidia drivers installed but once I uninstalled them the pc would run smoothly. now the win 10 running from the external hard drive has all the drivers installed and not a single issue. I thought I might need a new graphics card but it seems to be running perfectly from the external hard drive. do u believe I might have a hard drive issue and should I upgrade it to ssd? Do u think this would help it out and fix everything?
It does sound like it could be a hard drive issue but it’s hard to be certain. If you aren’t using an SSD then I would really suggest to get one. You’ll wonder how you ever did without it. The R2 can fit 3 x 2.5” drives and one mSata drive. Be very careful removing the HDD ribbon cable as they are expensive and rare. You remove the 4 screws holding in the HDD caddy and then use tweezers to unplug the cable from the motherboard. Then lift the caddy out. Don’t bend the cable up as it can break. Put the new SSD in slot 1 or 3 as they are the faster Sata3 slots.
Can it take the new internal ssd’s that the newer PCs take. Small USB looking ones not sure what they are called my brothers pc has them. Or do I need to put the hard drive looking ones? Atm I’ve got a raid configuration will it still work or will I need to switch it off?
#u2 omg you legend. This fixed it. I tried all bios settings except that I didn’t think the raid set up was causing this issue. It installed and has no glitches or crashes or black screens works perfectly all drivers installed and no issues. Thank you

Welcome to the Dell Community @Ck13
Change SATA Operation to AHCI then try to install W10 using the USB media.

Have you downloaded Windows 10 onto a USB flash drive using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool and tried installing the OS from this?
