Macros in AutoCAD

I've had the alienware R17 for a year now and while this laptop can handle so much when it comes to rendering and heavy files I am having a problem connecting the macros to AutoCAD. I set them up to create basic commands such as erase which is "e+space" and when I go on to the program it does nothing. Is this due to the app not recognizing the macros or is there something in the set up that links the macros to the programs. Side note: Dell please release a video on YouTube for people who own alienware laptops on how to set up their macro keys. Unlike the command center for the keyboards the laptops cc is hiding the macros settings in the fx. I know its not that hard to find but like, help your customers out. Especially since I've seen so many threads on this website saying they don't know how to connect their macros.
