My fix for low FPS in games. Enable these NVIDIA settings.
- Image Sharpening: Sharpening Off, Scaling Disabled
- Ambient Occlusion: Off
- Anisotropic Filtering: Off
- Antialiasing – FXAA: On
- Antialiasing- Gamma Correction: On
- Antialiasing – Mode: Multisampling
- CUDA – GPUs: All
- DSR – Factors: Off
- Low Latency Mode: Ultra
- Max Frame Rate: Whatever your monitor refresh rate is, I like 60FPS.
- Power Management Mode: Adaptive
- Shader Cache: On
- Texture Filtering Anisotropic Sample Option: On
- Texture Filtering – Negative LOD bias: Allow
- Texture Filtering – Quality: High Performance
- Texture Filtering – Trilinear Optimization: On
- Threaded Optimization: On
- Triple Buffering: On
- Vertical Sync: On
- Virtual Reality Pre-Rendered Frames: 1
I tested these settings on my own Alienware systems. These settings should also work with these GPUs as listed here:
GTX 600 Series through 3000 Series mobile/non mobile

m17 R1-4, m15 R4
