Yeah, that's a mess for everyone, I expect. Presumably, they know now. The My Alienware update is the same; it just cycles through updating and then tell you there's an update you should install, ad nauseum.

I know it's not Tech Support. We're just chatting between ourselves about a problem known to affect many people. There's no need for us to bother Support about it. We just have to wait for a fix, or maybe reinstall AWCC. No big deal.

Hi @AlienwareOwner and @jchpmn welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support. 

Corporate Dell does not usually respond to user's complaints in this public forum. Advocate that user adopt the private Dell process, and visit their online Dell account to create Service Request so that Dell knows there is a problem to fix. 

If still within Dell warranty, click on @DELL-Cares and send Private Message to request assistance.

I went into program data/dell/ and deleted the folder "updateservice". reinstalled AWCC and it worked
