I'm probably going to do the same since 1000watt+ psu prices are coming down

I've noticed that too there's a lot of PSU sales going on lately. Maybe the demand is decreasing due to nobody being able to buy a new GPU at retail to complete a build. And for the 1000W + models there's also the falling crypto prices.

Can you link the case and motherboard you got so I can do the same thing?

Hey all user , I been updated from dell tech , the mobo pair with r12 will not support the 11th feature of ram memory controller selection which is gear 1/2 selection .
therefore anything running above 3200mhz regardless you choosing which profile of xmp you will stuck in gear 2 instead .
if you want your hardware run at the best and only option is to get aftermarket mobo of z590 to run them .
As business perspective I don think dell will recall mobo and upgrade new supported chipset .
Perhaps some of you could go to the legal pathway , as for normal user myself I just have to pay additional money for mobo to run the game smoothly with optimal machine .
what you will experience with running gear 2 would be the spike or micro shuttering in game , how ever the fps might not affected too much .
therefore dell indeed did not given their best to support 11th gen .

It really irritates me now, as I had an opportunity to purchase a similar spec'ced system for a similar price but passed on it to hold out for the R12.
I held out hope (as many people did) that the memory issue would be resolved prior to my system arriving.
Now it sounds as though it won't be, and my estimated delivery date is now November. Almost 8 months after I first clicked purchase.
What a shambles.

This is the response from customer service regarding this issue...
"I see, in this case, since there is no issue but a hardware limitation inquiry, I think that the best option will be reaching the sales department to see an upgrades can help you with your request"

Hi, Just wanted to ask, do we need to get a z590 or just a B560 chipset will do as a replacement?
If we are running games in 4K example cyberpunk 2077, do we get this micro-stutter issue with gear 2 on dell mobo?
Thanks.

It depend on what you need , B560 do not support OC on cpu yet z590 does . If your R12 are not pair with unlocked CPU b560 would be sufficient and cheaper too
If you need more advise on model and performance i think other platform would be better to find such as reddit

Dell doesn't don't sell or offer any motherboard upgrades for the z490 board in the R12.
Unless you wait until October and purchase the next gen desktop model.
