x15 R1, Realtek audio keeps cutting out
Hello,
Recently I've been having audio issues with my x15 R1. After booting windows the sound would disappear after a minute or two with no indication on screen or the taskbar that anything was wrong. The audio would come on again if I went into the audio settings and raised and lowered the volume a few times but would disappear again after a minute. The speakers work fine as I checked them in the boot diagnostics. I decided to uninstall the Realtek driver and restart and once I logged back in the audio was working perfectly, well, until windows decided to reinstall the bad driver again and since I'm on Windows 11 Home windows just keeps reinstalling the bad driver so I am stuck in this uninstalling/reinstalling cycle just to have my sound working.
The bad driver is version 6.0.9388.1 which is the latest according to windows update.
How do I solve this? Thanks in advance.

Yes I did. I completely uninstalled the driver from Windows, restarted and installed the old driver from my laptop’s driver page and now windows update no longer wants to download the new driver. So far so good.
