SSD Testing

Hello

I would like to know what are the SSD brand used by Dell in our Alienware like Area51m or similar ?

What models have been tested or what models of high perfomance like the 970 Evo or WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD could work on our system for sure? , has anyone tested any of those ?

Thanks.

Welcome to the Dell Community  @salva72

A good place to start is the Alienware Area-51m driver support page.

There you can find firmware updates for Serial ATA drives installed in your system at the factory.

If you have one of Toshiba SSD's installed, I would do the firmware update "ASAP"

As your system will begin to show signs of:

1.  Blue screen issues that occur during Modern Standby power mode.

2. Error messages occur when the drive is not detected.

A good place for adding or upgrading is Crucial.

We haven't heard of any alerts being raised with the 970 EVO. Although we did have some slight incompatibility issues with the 960. However, we have had a higher usage acceptance with the WD SSDs.
