USB 3.0 only transfers at USB 1.0 speed
I was curious if anyone knows if the 1.4.4 BIOS update addresses any USB functionality at all or if anyone knows how I might be able to get my Laptop to at least transfer at USB 2.0 speed? Using the DELL diagnostics It says the system is capable of running at speeds of 2.0 but is currently running at 1.0 and gives that test a PASS. The system should be capable of 3.0 speeds and even the diagnostics itself states it should be capable of running USB 2.0. I was hoping someone here might have more information for me. Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can provide. I can provide more details in a PM but each time I try to include them here DELL has removed my post.

Hi @Smythius,
What device are you using? How are you measuring the speed? Have you tried all available USB ports?

3.0 speed also requires 3.0 drivers. If chipset and usb3 drivers are missing this can be a problem.

@speedstep On my AW 15 R2, when I go into the device manager under USB controllers it shows USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller and USB 3.0 Root Hub so I would assume those are USB 3 drivers it has. I do understand that it needs drivers. Dell never sold the 15 R2 with Windows 7 so Dell didn't provide any compatible with Windows 7 so it reverts to the most generic USB 1.0. I also know that there are many systems out there running Windows 7 fully capable of USB 3.0 speed. I would like to know why I can't even get USB 2.0 speed out of it when Dell's diagnostic even says it is capable and still passes it during the test running at 1.0 speed. I was hoping that the new BIOS 1.4.4 update might address this but reading forums it appears to do more harm than good, and not even address USB functionality. can you provide me with a link, or repo that has such drivers?
