USB Port is not detected for Arduino

I am using alienware 17 and I forgot the laptop cd.

Background: I cleaned everything on laptop, factory reset.

Issues:

1. (not a problem) USB ports seem working for usual job such as reading card etc etc;

2. (a real problem) USB ports is not detected if you check it on window management, I attach the screen shot,

Arduino is not detecting the port so I can not upload any codes on stuffs. I also attach the pic.

Any idea?

I read other peoples problem and I found one answer there:

If it was a systemic issue on the Alienware 17-R3, we would be seeing thousands of customer complaints. We are not. You should contact Support and get another like for like exchange. Not a proper answer.
