i'm not using the timer. It stays on all day and I just right click then "go dark" to turn it off at night. 3rd party is disabled. I've completely reinstalled command center, no fix.
Hello @alienware17r4 that is very odd. Dell Support for Alienware 17 R4 with Windows 10 x64 says install Alienware Command Center for Notebooks 4.8.23.0. Guess that you have used your service tag to get Dell support specifically for your 17 R4. Does the AWCC FX icon in your taskbar tray also disappear when your keyboard goes dark?
It's not randomly doing anything. I manually turn the keyboard lights off at night. I'm saying rarely when I try to turn them off they dont turn off. (or on). It works just fine almost all the time. Just the rare occasion when "go light" or "go dark" do not work. The lights never turn on of off by themselves.
The keyboard does not just go dark by itself. I use "go dark" by right clicking the alienfx icon. No, the icon stays there and otherwise functions just fine.
Hello @alienware17r4 guess that Dell support is doing its job by saying AWCC 4.8.23.0 is Not Compatible. Did you have an earlier AWCC version that worked and could be installed?

Yeah it’s just one of my Timeout settings that goes dark after a few minutes.
just right click the alienhead and click the timeout settings and also disable third party access.
if it doesn’t fix itself I’d save my profile as a .ath file and then reinstall it to reset the settings to its default.

Yes, I have the latest version I can find, for this model. When I enter my service tag for the newer version, it warns not compatible.

He has the older version @crimsom. Not the newer command center with different tabs.
