m15 R1, PCIe 4.0 compatible?

Hi guys,

Does Alienware m15 R1 PCIe 4.0 compatible? This is my laptop but bought in 2018, running 8th gen i7.

Because Samsung gonna release their new SSD 980 this year, I am considering upgrading my hardisk.

But I have no knowledge about tech, so I am not sure if it supports Samsung 980 Pro/Evo as author said that
"These speeds will require a PCIe 4.0 compatible system".

Thank you.

No.  The only systems currently available that support PCIe 4.0 are AMD-based.  There is currently no PCIe 4.0 support on any system using an Intel CPU.
