m15 R1, System CMOS checksum bad

System CMOS error keeps coming up every time I on my laptop also laptop only works when the charger is connected. When I took it to the service centre I was told that the CMOS battery is fine and main battery needs to be changed but when I did diagnosis battery health was shown as excellent.

So I just wanted to know if CMOS error has anything to do with the main battery and if I should get it changed?

Don't count on the "battery health" meter -- it's not a reliable measure.  You can run a battery report:

Open a command prompt with admin privileges, and type  powercfg /batteryreport.  It will tell you how much of the battery's initial capacity remains. If it's under 50% of the design capacity, it will drain very rapidly.  That can indeed lead to draining the CMOS battery (and the error you're seeing).
