m15 R1, fan runs high when boot up and running constantly

ragunath79_0-1624450594969.png

CPU Fan shows 100% always. When ever i boot up my laptop, the fan runs at high speed and creating worst noise. I am fed up with this machine. Battery stands for max 1.5 hrs, even i adjusted all options (ex : lighting off the keyboard).

After booting also the fan speed remains same and noise still persist. I am just using this laptop for office use only not even for any single game.

My main issue is the fan speed and sound at boot up time and after that. Please help

Before our users can assist in troubleshooting, you need to provide some information =

* What specific Alienware Laptop model?
* What operating system and version?
* List all of the software you installed
* Have any hardware changes been made?

Use speed Dan and enable dell support. Then you can control the fan speeds and manually set them to low even if windows restarts.

I just received a brand new precision laptop that has constant loud fans and the last brand new latitude I worked on earlier this year has had fan and heat issues from the start.  Seems like this is just something happening with every other Dell Laptop right now.

A possible fix (apart from maybe getting the dell thermal drivers, etc. from the support page) is to try turning off TurboBoost in the BIOS.  It's made a difference in the past.

Use SpeedFan and enable DELL support.

Speed Fan is not listing the fan details. It just lists all others . Any suggestion. I am using 4.52

did you go to the advance tab and enable DELL support? Then you have to close the speedfan app and restart it. Make sure the DELL support is checked for the box too.

I had the same issue. Reinstall the app and restart the laptop. After I left my laptop in sleep mode for an extended time and it had the same issue.

If that doesn't fix the issue though, a uninstall and reinstall of speed fan can help.

Hi Chris,

I'm having a similar fan running continually problem with my Alienware M18x R2  laptop. When I run the support assist hardware troubleshooter the fan switches off for an hour, then resumes! Any suggestions to fix it?

Hi @ragunath79 welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

Please check all laptop vents and internal fan blades to remove all dust and debris. Please use can of dry air to remove all dust from within body of laptop.

Please use laptop on dust free flat surface, table, tray, etc. Please elevate rear of laptop to increase cooling air flow.

Uninstall SupportAssist from your laptop, this program is useless it only does problems! After uninstall, reboot.
