m15 R4, SSD upgrade to 4TB possible?
hi,
i boutght Dell Alienware M15 R4 15.6" i7-10870H 32GB RAM 512GB SSD RTX 3070 8GB 144HZ
Hard Drive 512GB (2x256 PCIe M.2 SSD) RAID0
and i have two pice of 2tb (Crucial P5 2TB M.2 Internal SSD (CT2000P5SSD8) Crucial P5 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Internal, up to 3400 MB/s, SSD) Form factor - M.2 (2280) that's mean 4tb
Specs - 2TB M.2 SSD • PCIe NVMe Gen 3 • 3400 MB/s Read, 3000 MB/s Write
my question is how I can install to which slot number?
I know there are slots 1,2,3
how do I know the boot drive?

Have you opened the Base Cover to see what type of form factor is installed and if you will need mounting hardware???

Since you are replacing the SSD's in slot 1 and 2 it is hard to say which drive will be the boot drive???
Slot 3 is the WWAN slot and only takes 2230 SSD's.

Hope I understand this right. If you have 2, 256GB drives setup in raid 0, they are both the boot drive. You can get a low cost drive enclosure to mirror your drive to the new one, then install the new drive. Then you can install the 2nd new drive and setup raid with the new drives if you want raid. Personally, I'd just leave it as a 2 drive setup.
