m15 R4, iPhone storage, not using AMC
Hi All,
I have a new Alienware m15 R4 laptop. How can I connect an iPhone to the laptop without using the AMC (Alienware Mobile Connect) app? I am very privacy cautious and I like really simple stuff. My only purpose is to be able to copy my photos and videos from my iPhone to my laptop. Nothing else. I do not want to install and run an additional app on my phone. Also, if I need to use the AMC, I do not know what kind of data sync will be automatically go to the cloud or any other servers outside of my local laptop. When I use other laptops, Samsung, Surface and old Dell Inspiron, I simply plug in the iPhone to the USB ports and then I can easily use File Explorer (on Windows 10) to access my phone's storage photos and videos. I can easily copy and paste to my laptops. I want the same simple thing on my Alienware laptop. How can I do that?
Thanks.

You can't use your lightening cable to transfer everything across? That's what I do with my XR. I just go to This PC, select the iPhone and transfer everything over.

Hi All,
I am now able to get it worked. It is about my cable. I tried a newer cable and it works now. I think it is just about the USB 3 version compatibility.
Thanks.

I tried every possible fix out there untill i fixed it by forcing to restart your iPhone.
