m15 R5, XMP profile unavailable since its not Intel I guess

Hi

I can't find the Bios Performance menu to change the ram clock speed to 3200 and can't activate XMP profile because its not intel. How can I get get 3rd party Crucial ram to have the right clock speed?

Anyone can help me?

Hi @Anarchy98 thank you for sharing update.

Having purchased RAM cards that run at 2667 MHz, BIOS will acknowledge the new RAM cards and run them at their rated compatibility speed.

Please contact OEM and ask them to check the compatibility of your purchased RAM cards. Most OEMs will exchange the RAM cards so they are compatible with your system speed of 3200 MHz.

Amd ryzen 7 5800x RAM speed - CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory - Linus Tech Tips says 3600 MHz XMP profile should work.

Please note Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 has a new variable to tweak, AMD Infinity Fabric allows different chip components to be overclocked separately. Normally the fabric clock is tied to RAM speed, eg 3200MHz RAM running with a fabric clock of 1600MHz, but this only holds true up to 3600MHz. The RAM card OEM will tell you how fast the XMP profile will run.

i guess i made a mistake and wasn't clear. : Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5

I'm not looking for compatibility, but how to modify the bios so the RAM clock will be the right clock.

The processor is Ryzen 7 5800H

I changed the ram from 16gb to : 32 GB, 2 x 16 GB, DDR4, 3200 MHz, dual-channel.

The thing is, when I look at the system menu, its clocked at 2667 Mhz and not 3200 Mhz. I am sure that it is RAM that should run at 3200 Mhz

AMD offers a free overclocking program called Ryzen Master that lets you experiment with overclocking your AMD Ryzen CPU. Ryzen Master makes overclocking a lot easier than it used to be.

Based on your investigation of AMD applications, it seems that the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 gaming performance and/or reducing temperature cannot be improved upon.
