m15 R5, crashed, error saying hard drive is not installed
Hi,
I have recently bought this Alienware m15 R6 and suddenly, during a normal operating condition, it freezes and crashes. Then it will restart and an error will show indicating that Hard drive is not installed followed by loud beeping noise. I run diagnostics and troubleshooting especially on the hard drive, but the results are showing that no error has been found. And now, when I am trying to use this laptop on battery, it goes freezing and crashing.
I highly suspect this to be a software issue. Maybe someone has same experience with me or rather an idea for the solution. I liked to use this for my job and for gaming, but to where this is going, it seems I wasted huge chunk of money for this machine.

Software maybe but it sounds more like a drive problem. How many beeps do you hear and are you seeing any sequence of blinking lights? Did you run diagnostics using F12 at boot?

Hi @Arctis welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Please click on Product Support and allow Dell to identify your system (Alienware m15 R5 or R6 ?).
By recently purchased statement in OP, postulate that Alienware m15 R5 or R6 laptop continues to have Dell's first year basic warranty. Please click on @DELL-Cares to send Private Message requesting assistance.
Remember to visit your online Dell account to create your Service Request, so that Dell 'officially' knows that there is a problem to fix. How to Create a Support Request Online for Dell EMC | Dell US
When Dell Technical Support requests an online session with your system, allow them access, so that they can run their in-house diagnostic tools to fix software fault, or identify hardware fault so that Dell can assign local Contractor to visit and install replacement Dell parts.

You are spending way too much time on this. Reseat the drive.
Most likely when the system warms up, the connections are losing contact. Reseat the drive, and if it continues, take to support

Hi, sorry for the late reply as I am working in offshore operations. The beepings I hear usually comes with the error indicating that Harddrive is not installed. I run diagnostics but it shows that everything is normal.
