m15 R5, macro keys, overclock, disabled in AWCC

Hi,

I've just received my Alienware m15 R5 Ryzen version.

So far it works well, but I noticed the options to configure macro keys is always disabled and the overclock menu doesnt let me create profiles.

I checked the BIOS but no trace of anything I have to enable. How do I configure the macro keys and overclock on this model?

Thanks

Hey LtHusky! Yeah I've solved it! This laptop has a problem with bios and softwares that comes from the factory. You have to go into the Dell page for this laptop and update all the drivers, BIOS, everything you can.

I don't remember which bios upgrade it is but on the release notes they mention fixing this issue, so you better off updating all drivers on the website (support assist doesn't update things enough)

I have it also, and it does the same to me.

If you have the Ryzen 7 5800h I don't think you can overclock it.  I think this would be the Ryzen 9 processor.  I can't answer why the macro keys are disabled as this is listed as a feature on the machine so shoukd be available.

So I got a response from Dell and the model doesn't support overclocking, which is fine.

The issue is still with the macro keys. I create macros and assign them to the keys dragging them to the key in the configuration, save configuration, still doesn't work.

I tried reinstalling AWCC (Alienware Command Center) but no success. Any other driver could be bad?

Hey @Hangarter,

I've just gotten the same laptop and my macro keys do not work either. Have you found a solution to this yet? I haven't been able to find anything else about this issue.
