m15 R6, color setting advice for 1440p 240Hz panel
I have the M15 R6 with the 1440p 240Hz panel.
The screen is pretty good for a laptop IPS, but it seems a touch wrong to me. In Nvidia Control Panel, I think I got some improvement with white accuracy under daylight by slipping the Green down to 45% Brightness and Blue to 47% Brightness, but I still feel like the shades towards black are maybe a bit cramped. I'm not sure exactly what it is. It's somewhat like an overly high Contrast, except only really in that ~10% band down to pure black.
Adjusting Gamma upwards to try and affect this only seems to make other aspects of the display worse beyond +1.10, and it doesn't seem to help the issue anyway. I may be expecting too much, of course. This isn't an OLED, and "black" is pretty obviously grey in dark scenes in movies and games, but it would be nice to get a less distractingly crushed image when displaying brighter, colorful images.
Has anybody had success countering this problem?
