Hi @crimsom ,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I checked the events and saw that there is "Windows was not properly shut down" which is described as "The previous system shutdown at 9:30:08 PM on ‎8/‎15/‎2022 was unexpected." This should be because I push the power button for seconds to force shutdown after the system crashed.

There is "AWCC stopped working" after the improperly shut down, whose information is below:

AWCC

I think this should be due to shut down of the system.

Before the shut down, there is "Windows Explorer stopped responding and closed", and the information is below:

This is because I opened windows explorer when the system crashes. It can open, but then it crashed, too. This behavior is similar to other applications. I can open some applications after the crash happens, but soon the applications opened will crash, too.

Also, I checked another crash event, but because I did not open window explorer before shut down, there are only "Windows was not properly shut down"  and "AWCC stopped working", and no other information around the time crash happened.

Exactly the same model, SSD, and issue here. My guess is MOBO can't support the bandwidth of two 4.0 SSDs at the same time. Try switching to PCIe 3.0 SSD as the secondary drive. Plenty of victim cases could be found online.

Hi @LegenDXXX thank you for sharing additional information.

Support for Alienware m15 R7 Storage says use M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD cards in all slots. Up to 4TB capacity cards can be installed. There is improved performance with a large and ultrafast primary drive.

There should be just one SSD being used as the OS (C:) boot drive (an unreliable dual drive RAID_0 is not recommended). The AIDA64 should NOT show the second SSD usage to be 100% - something is not right.

The (C:) boot drive should have plenty of empty space so that temporary files can be unpacked and expanded by graphic intensive applications, especially by modern gaming programs.

Applications can only be installed and run on the OS (C:) boot drive partition on the SSD. Personal and other files should be installed on DATA partition on the SSD or on different SSD.

Please be aware that the Alienware m15 series has Hybrid Power Design. Games should be played with laptop powered by ac adapter (charger), some users have purchased a more powerful charger (more watts). Alienware 15 R3/15 R4/17 R4/17 R5/M15/M17 performance issue or battery drain while AC adapter is connected | Dell UK

i have a m15r7 with i712700h,rtx3070ti and it freezes while paying games. i am suspecting that their is not enough power because if you do basic math you would find that both i712700h and rtx 3070ti combined is over the 240watt power adapter they give you IS NOT ENOUGH !!!!!!!!

DEL FIX THIS ISSUE OR REFUND US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the exact same problem. Is there any fix or is this just a hardware limitation

Probably the power limitations for the SSD to operate on full bandwidth. My Alienware 17 R4 GTX 1080, QHD also has the same issue. I was using the OEM Toshiba KXG5 and a Corsair Force MP 510. I kept the new Corsair SSD and removed the old Toshiba SSD.
