m15 R7, new, disk issue

Hi,

I just bought a new Alienware m15 R7 laptop and as I booted it up, it had issues. It is lagging extremely, and the hard disk is always 100% active. I checked; I have the Micron 3400 installed. I updated all the software and firmware updates from Dell support, Alienware support and Windows 11 as well as the optional updates but it is lagging a lot. This gave me a very bad experience for such an expensive machine. As I type this, I am experiencing lag in typing as well. I am not sure what is causing this issue. It is taking ages to even open a Task Manager.

Also, as I was updating the pc, whenever it would go for a restart after update, it would not boot up and show me an error that there is no hard drive installed. I checked in the BIOS menu, and it would return with no SSD. The error code it generated was 2000-0155. It did start however but is still lagging. Please help me out with this.

As suggested in other forum posts disconnect the battery, unplug the adapter and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then remove and reinstall the drive. If that does not help then you may need another SSD. Call Dell tech support in that instance so they can assist you.

Hi I literally have the same issue with the same machine. I got an m15 r7 as you did, with the 3070, 16gb ram, and a 1tb SSD. It costed a fortune, and now I get 100% disk usage just randomly, and having the same symptoms as you did.
