m15, locks up after sleep using a CalDigit TS3 dock.
Good Evening,
I purchased a CalDigit TS3 dock (based upon reviews with compatibility with Alienware m15) and for the past two weeks having been having major issues with the Alienware locking up after sleep requiring me to hard "reboot" the system.
I have run the BIOS, Windows 11,and Intel Thunderbolt interface updates, and that actually let me finally connect the dock to the laptop and it worked fine. I have laptop plugged into its own power supply, and the TS3 cable connected to the laptop and dock (Dock is connected to 32inch LG monitor via Displayport).
This all seems to work fine until the laptop goes to sleep after 20 minutes, when I came back and wake it up, it works for about 30 seconds before it locks up. Cant type, no mouse control, locked up. I have to hard "reboot" it using the power button. Not sure why this is doing this?? It has been extremely frustrating for the past two weeks. I have reached out to CalDigit as well, and they recommended the hardware/software updates, but overall a loss for ideas as the system does work and is powered up works fine until the laptop goes to sleep and has the issue after waking up.
I though it could have been overheating with lid closed however have been just placing it next to dock with lid open and problem still persists.
The current BIOS doesn't have the thunderbolt security settings to toggle (No System Configuration options) and neither does the thunderbolt app on windows. I have read to change it to security level 0 (SL0) however I cannot find any way to do this.
Laptop is Alienware m15 (Nov 2019).
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
