m15, performance issues

Here's the problem:  With both an integrated graphics card (UHD 630) and Nvidia 2070, there is too much power being consumed when playing games between the two graphics processors.  When connecting to an external monitor, I can disable the UHD 630 and get expected performance in games.  I notice as much as 20 FPS in most games and I get performance like I would expect.

However, just using the laptop monitor, if I disable the 630 it doesn't work right because the laptop screen is directly tied to the UHD graphics card.  It causes all sorts of issues.  If I leave it enabled, games play horrible.

Is there ANY WAY to disable the UHD 630 graphics processor AND keep using the laptop screen?  This REALLY; I feel like I can't use the max potential of the laptop because I'm forced to split power between the two graphics processors at all time.  I don't know why you would use the UHD 630 anyways.

I've already had one Dell tech support guy tell me the laptop is working as intended and recommended NOT disabling the UHD 630 even with external monitor.  But that is the only way I can take full advantage of the laptops power supply and actually enjoy the games as intended.

My last alienware laptop did not have this issue; it had a 1070 graphics card and I feel performed better because it didn't have to split power. .
