Just and UPD with more details of the issue. I have a Alienware m17 R1. Back in 2020, I used to have a bizarre problem - the system would freeze and then the internal HDD would simply disappear. All the icons associated with the disk would go blank, the system would boot much slower too. I found a rather random solution to this - I downloaded the current version of BIOS from Dell Update and re-installed it. This method helped every time, until the issue stopped occurring. Today this happened again for the first time since 2020/21.
This time I can't install the "latest" Alienware 2.16 BIOS driver with an "Error: driver version fail!" I checked my system info, and it turns out my BIOS is ver. 2.18. It's not even on the Dell website! Could you please suggest how do I install the latest BIOS driver? Also, do you know anything of the issue itself - why does HDD disappear and system boot slower?
