m17 R3, Realtek sound not working

Bought a m17 R3 last year and everything has been fine up until a few days ago. I played a game, and went to play another and the sound would not come out. I was using a pair of earbuds to listen, and the speaker icon in the system tray was muted. Went to click on the icon and the sound troubleshooter opened up saying it couldn't find a sound device. Checked the device manager and there was no errors or faults, checked hidden devices and the Realtek sound driver was hidden. So I did some research and one post said to do a hard reset (hold the power button down while the laptop is on and force a shutdown), it temporarily solved the problem. Next day turned on the laptop and the sound was off again, did the same thing as above and it did not fix it. The only way to get sound out of the laptop is to hookup a Bluetooth headset or speaker. I read someplace that it could be a bad connection by the power adapter plug, which broke the sound card in the laptop. So it leaves me with limited options.

First test the sound with the built in BIOS test software.

Second there is a Nvidia sound card also install (Nvidia video card) but I think that only works through the HDMI port.

Third only use Bluetooth items from now on.

Or 4 try and fix the soundcard in the laptop, which might be integrated into the motherboard.

If anybody has any idea or information it would greatly be excepted.
