m17 R4, AWCC, fan control not working

I've had my M17 R4 for about 4 months. I've loved it, but My issues with AWCC is getting quite annoying. The fan operation has been alittle screwy since I've had it. Fans will lock in at a low speed, or stop, causing the computer to overheat and freeze while making a fast clicking sound. I've got to hold the power button to shut it down. This will happen while gaming, browsing or even when it's idle and I'm out of the room. Upon restart the fans kick in at high speed till it cools down. I've tried different profiles, made my own, followed the procedures for doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of AWCC, AOC and the audio, registry editing, etc.Twice. It may work good for several days, then freeze 3 - 4 times in a day, then good for awhile. I can find no pattern to it.

I'm now afraid to leave it unattended. If it freezes up while I'm not there, I'm afraid it'll damage itself, as it gets quite hot.

Any suggestions on an alternate way to control the fans, without losing custom keyboard colors

Download AWCC update application, right click to Run as administrator, etc. and because AWCC already installed, a different window appears. Click on Repair, then Next, wait for repair successful window and then Restart to save the repair changes. When system boots, Open AWCC to activate repair.

Hopefully, fan controls are reinstated.

Thx, that fixed AWCC fan control, but system still freezes. Dell suggested turning off Speed Shift and or Speed Step. Disabled Speed Step, didn't help. Re-enabled Speed Step, disabled Speed Shift. It's been running good since.

So im gonna make your reply a solution because it worked but Congrats!

If you have any other issues just reply back but I fixed most freezing issues and the laptop not going to sleep by doing a fresh install of windows where it keeps your important files but deletes all apps. fixes most if not every software issue that isn't related to the BIOS.
